Invisible braces, also known as clear aligners, are a set of custom-made, clear plastic trays, designed to straighten teeth over time.
Invisible braces work by applying gentle, consistent pressure to move teeth into their desired position over time. Each set of aligners is worn for one-two weeks before switching to the next set in the series.
Invisible braces are suitable for most adults and teenagers with mild to moderate orthodontic issues such as crowding, spacing, overbites, and underbites.
The duration of treatment varies depending on individual cases, but it typically ranges from 6 to 24 months.
For optimal results, aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day, only removing them to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
Review appointments are usually required every 6-8 weeks to monitor your progress and receive new sets of aligners.
You should remove your aligners when eating or drinking anything other than water to avoid staining and damaging the aligners.
Clean your aligners by brushing them with a soft toothbrush and rinsing them with lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water, as it can warp the plastic.
Contact the practice immediately if you lose or damage an aligner.
